Southern Part

Towards the southern part of Hoosier Forest but close to River Ohio is the Clover Lick Barrens. This vegetation is quite typical of that found in the Great Plains and on prairies. The vegetation was discovered by a biologist and botanist from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Unfortunately, the biologist later kept a record insinuating that the initial survey of the region in 2005 described the area not to be a forest but an area with grassy hills and poor barrens.
